Proform is a subsidiary of Icon Health & Fitness, one of the world's largest exercise equipment manufacturers also responsible for Nordic Track, Image, Healthrider, Reebok, Weslo and Weider treadmills.
Proform Treadmills are probably the most popular treadmills in the "less than $1000" price range. They usually have lots of features to make your exercise more interesting, but are somewhat lacking in the quality department.

If you're a walker or a light jogger and are looking for a cheap yet decent quality treadmill, you should definitely take a look at Proform Crosswalk 500. Considering that it's original price has been lowered for more than $400, Proform c1050 sounds like a good deal, but keep in mind that a 1.75 CHP motor is not recommended for anything more than light jogging.
